Hello ! Always a new chapter of life and since May 2018 I've found myself in the great North of Alaska once again working, living, and playing among true wilderness. Wilderness at its finest. I have been enjoying the slower pace of life and enjoying getting away from the normal hustle and bustle and stress of every day life. My base here is a small remote village of about 300 people. No roads lead here. Only way in is by a plane. No traffic lights. For work, I either in a boat or flying to my work location.
I've actually read TEN (yes, TEN) books since I've been here. That's about one book a week. I have more time to enjoy the little things of life and my surroundings. It's been fantastic. Work here is quite different than anything I've done before and has been a challenge in itself. It's great to try new things.
Enjoy the photos and some other words to live by that I came across today:
"Care about your future. This is more critical than most people realize: You need to care about what happens to your future self. Yes, we all want to be “successful,” but what does that mean? Do you actively want to retire early, or are you content with working through the traditional lifespan of a typical worker in our society? In 20 years, do you see yourself living in the same house? Working the same job? Driving the same car? What will change? (commentary by steve adcock)
